Vintage Hans J. Wegner China Chair, model FH 4283, crafted in mahogany with a loose button-tufted brown leather seat cushion. Designed in 1944 for Fritz Hansen, the chair is an important early example of Wegner’s Danish Modern and Scandinavian design.
Inspired by traditional 17th and 18th-century Chinese furniture, the design combines a sculptural horseshoe-shaped back and armrest with a broad central back splat and slender tapered legs. A distinctive piece of mid-century modern Danish furniture. Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum
